Becoming a parent changes the way you see everything.

Twenty-four years ago, when I became a mother, I began to understand photographs differently. Photography became a way of holding onto a moment with all its tiny details that quickly fade.

Parenthood and childhood intertwine in a way that as you raise these little people, you become someone new too.  As the ordinary days fill with a rhythm of regular life there is a beauty in the chaos. There in the middle of it all, your child loses their first tooth or flashes you that dimpled grin you have fallen in love with a million times. That is the beauty in the chaos that is sandwiched in between the moments of daily life. These are the memories we hold on to and revisit as our kids grow up. 

I photograph families because I know the importance of anchoring these memories with real, authentic images. Photography gives you the gift of revisiting those days that take you back to your family’s story.
