“Why Spring Family Photos Are the Worst (Said No One Ever)”

North Dallas Family & Child Photographer

Spring is that magical time when everything turns green and new! The wildflowers are poppin’, the temps are perfect, and it’s basically nature showing off. Still not sure if you should book spring family photos? Let me give you a few very serious reasons why you definitely shouldn’t. Totally logical. Zero sarcasm.

You hate flowers.

Bright, happy wild flowers? Eww! No thanks. You much prefer brown grass and bare trees.

Spring mini sessions in the

Golden hour pictures are overrated

Maybe harsh sun at noon is more your thing. Sun squints? Yes, that is more your style. And harsh shadows… now we are talking!

You prefer cold, rainy, and grey weather

Cold, rainy, and gray – those sound perfect for an outdoor session. While you’re at it, let’s all dress in black.

You prefer the scorching summer heat

If cold, rainy, and gray isn’t your thing, maybe you prefer to skip those spring family photos and wait for those toasty temps of July and August. Pictures with sweat spots on your clothes? Say less!

Everyone looks too happy in Spring photo sessions

Everyone loves a grumpy face in family pictures. If you really want to seal the deal on this one, make sure to put everyone in very uncomfortable clothes. Let me know if you need more tips on how to ensure everyone is unhappy.

Updated pictures – who needs them!?

You much prefer to be the person who has a family picture on Facebook that is at least 5 years old. That way when you show up with a family of 3 kids, people will be shocked because they thought you only had one child. It is a sure-fire way to keep everyone guessing.

You do not – under any circumstances – want to enjoy your pictures.

Things to look for in a family photographer to ensure DON’T enjoy your session.

  • inflexible – no ability to roll with it when things get a little crazy
  • grumpy – If you have read the Mary Poppins books, this is your model. Stern. No nonsense.
  • bossy – You much prefer a photographer who barks commands to sit down and SMILE.
  • inexperienced – No one wants an old, jaded photographer. Your neighbor bought a “fancy” camera just last week. This will be more your style.

If you check out my bio, you can see if I am a fit for the non nonsense photographer you are seeking.

You do not like to share a good thing with your friends.

Picture this – your best friend asks for a recommendation for a family photographer that you just love. You have no ideas and no referrals to give because you have never experienced this. She will need to look somewhere else for a friend with all the good tips and recommendations.

30 minutes with your family – no thanks!

You want no part in taking a moment to just relax – even during a family photo session. Packed schedules and only seeing kids in the car while you scarf down a Chick-Fil-A sandwich on your way to the next activity are really more your vibe. While your at it, how about a surprise birthday party that you didn’t even buy a gift for – just to squeeze a little more in to the weekend.

Oh my! …. but seriously. In case we have not met in person. Hi – I am Anna Roorda. I love hanging out with your families. Throw in a little chaos of several kids, and I am in my comfort zone. AND – I am booking spring sessions now – I have some dates open here
