Who is this for? You! This is for regular, non professionals who just want to take better pictures.
What if I don't own a nice camera yet?
I can make suggestions if you want to buy one. If you are not ready to buy yet, you can rent one from www.aperturent.com. I also have an extra camera that you can use during class time. However, my extra camera is only for the time when we are together.
What if I REALLY want to do this but I don't have childcare or I have a very young child, nursing baby, etc?
First I want you to know that I taught myself photography when I had a baby and a two year old. I had them along with me. I learned photography by photographing them. I assume that what you most want to is to learn photography so that you have amazing pictures of your own children. We can hold our lessons at your house, at the park, on a neighborhood walk, etc. Also, each lesson is only about an hour of in person time. We can make this work! I photograph young kids ALL the time and I really like hanging out with little kids.
How does the payment work?
You will pay for the 4 lessons up front. Then we will schedule all for class times about a week apart.
What time of day will we be photographing/learning together?
This can be flexible. I will have you fill out a questionnaire that gives me an idea of what you are wanting to learn, and what your life looks like right now. I would like for at least one of our sessions to be in the evening so that you learn to use light that isn't so harsh.
Can a kid take this class?
Yes! I would say that the best age for this would be for a kid at least 11/12. I have taught elementary through high school art classes as well as middle and high school photography classes. If you have a kid that is under the age of 18, I do require that you be present or at least on site. If you want to have a group of kids take a class, we can talk about setting up a small class too.
How soon can I start?
I am booking now for classes beginning in April
